Incoterms in plain language

Who pays for what, and where responsibility passes from seller to buyer.

11 октября 2026

Incoterms are short codes in your sales contract that say who arranges and pays for each part of the journey, and where the risk passes from seller to buyer. They do not decide ownership or payment terms.

TermIn short
EXWBuyer arranges almost everything from the seller's premises.
FOBSeller loads the goods on the vessel; buyer pays the sea freight.
CIFSeller pays freight and insurance to the destination port; risk passes when loaded.
DAPSeller delivers to the named place, not unloaded and not cleared for import.
DDPSeller delivers cleared, with duties paid.
